Now available in a new updated and expanded digital edition for the iPad , iPhone (running iOS 8.4 or later) and Mac (running OS X Mavericks or later).

In the Columbia Phonograph Companion, Volume II, the various disc model Columbias are pictured and described, from the first "Toy" Disc Graphophone of 1899 through all the Grafonolas of the teens to the electrical phonographs, radios and combinations of 1931. As with the print edition, each model is featured in it's own page, with a large illustration and a description of the instrument. New to the digital edition are additional color illustrations, advertisements and catalog pages that can be viewed from the model's catalog page. A sample from one of the chapters may be downloaded for free, and the complete book costs only $14.99.

Continued from the print edition are contributor Raymond Wile's scholarly look at the beginning of the disc industry from the prospective of Columbia's involvement, a timeline of important dates in the company's history, and reflections on the company's early years as provided by key employees.

This digital edition will be continuously updated as new information or images become available. iBooks will automatically notify you whenever an update is available, and there will never be a charge for these updates.

The print edition of the Columbia Phonograph Companion Volume II has been out of print for several years and will not be reprinted.
