Gramaphone Needles

In the 1980s a series of allegedly authentic needle containers labeled Victor, Consolidated and Berliner started making the rounds of the phonograph shows. All look very similar, with only label being different. The labels were aged to look authentic. The whispers attributed these wooden vessels to a certain unsavory “collector”, however the containers generally changed hands without the cautionary information regarding their origin. Many collectors undoubtedly bought these in good faith, and this set of three sold in September of this year on ebay for over $800.
