Capehart George II Style This 1940 model year Capehart is one of the smaller instruments with the famous Turn-Over record changer. Capeharts are considered one of the finest collector phonographs for playing 78 rpm records. This photograph suggests the quality of the instruments. Capeharts were noted for the extreme quality of the cabinetry. Note the careful selection of veneers. Capeharts are still often found in beautiful condition - a testament to the esteem which their former owners held the machines. When properly adjusted, they are very reliable and will play your records gently and carefully. The record changer is fascinating to watch in operation, and is usually the focus of attention in any collection. This instrument cost approximately $700 new. |
