Brunswick Model #127 phonograph This black lacquer Japanese-decorated phonograph was built by the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company in the 1920s. The model 127 sold for $180 when new, a very small premium of only $5 over the cost of the Model 217, which was essentially the same machine without the Japanese decorations. This model was supplied with a four spring motor and the famous Ultona tone arm that could play Victor, Edison and Pathe style records. By way of contrast, Victor's Japanese Lacquer Victrola sold for triple the price of this attractive instrument.
