Brunswick Model #117 phonograph

This very attractive phonograph was built by the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company in the 1920s. The model 117 sold for $165 when new, and offered a lot of value for the money. The cabinet was attractive, well made, and offered in a very large choice of finishes. This model was supplied with a four spring motor and the famous Ultona tone arm that could play Victor, Edison and Pathe style records. Based upon the number of examples that turn up today, this must have been one of the company's most popular model.

The #117 was offered in a choice of mahogany, oak, walnut or white (paint). Examples of all four finishes are shown below.
